Erica Rawson (she/they) is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice spans sculpture, printmaking, collage, performance, digital art, and installation; however, these edges blur often and intentionally.
Erica’s work is informed by cycles of transformation, decay, and preservation, treating material change as both process and metaphor. She invites corrosion, fraying, and softening as collaborators - each confronts the tension between what we want to control and the radical freedom of letting go.
Originally from Pensacola, Florida, she relocated to Denver in 2012, where an unexpected apprenticeship led to a career in metal fabrication and arts education. She has created numerous installations for businesses and residences, taught welding at the Community College of Denver, and contributed to public art pieces nationwide. She had the honor of working with the Museum of Outdoor Arts as Artist Fellow in 2023 and 2025, and is the 2026 Summer Artist in Residence at PlatteForum in Denver.
Now based in California, Erica is pursuing her MFA in Art Studio at the University of California, Davis. She earned her BFA with an emphasis in sculpture and printmaking from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2024.
